I have a CTL2 low line bath trap but slightly confused on how to install it. Should the bath waste enter straight down into it or via the 90 bend? There is a seal connection below the 90 degree, is this for the overflow from the bath?

When tight for space (under a bath, shower tray etc) I tend to use a HepVo valve with a 87.5 deg knuckle adaptor.
