Hi, a quick question. There is a lot of damp in a walkthrough wardobe area adjacent to a shower/bathroom which is an old cottage conversion. This os on the ground floor level at the corner of the building. I was toying with several ideas and one which I need advice about is , can i lower the floor say about 4 inches by replacing the joists and installing new floor joists. I have not lifted the floor as yet so I really dont know the building set up underneath or condition of sub floor or joists. Is this possible to do, I thought if it was it would definately stop the water problem by creating a small step down into the bathroom area.
