Anyone got much experience with macerators?
Initially I was going to use 32mm pipe for the outlet but some people have mentioned that 22 mm works equally as well if not better ?
I thought the bigger size would be best?

Make and model of said macerator first then explain the run of the pipe including height and horizontal`s in metres.

A grundfos sololift2 wc1 macerator.
I have 2 options with the outlet pipe;
If it's 32 or 22 mm it will run up vertically 2.5 meters- then run through the loft 6/7 meters horizonatally then back down 1 meter and into the stack.
If I do use 22mm I could possibly run it down 200mm then a horizontal run about 10-11 meters into the stack. It will run through 7 inch floor joists .
Thank you

Have a look at the installation instructions - there are specific pipe dimensions depending on the vertical lift and horizontal fall distances

Not helpful as Ashworth could go for either of his options and still conform to the instructions.

I would go with the 32mm pipe and up and over option here.

If you run it downwards & then horizontally you may find the bowl will syphon off even with an anti syphon valve. It did with mine anyway, it had to have at least 12" upward before running horizontally. Did it in partially 22mm from macerator into an existing 32mm waste that ran direct into a back inlet gulley ( combined surface & soil drains)

But you didn`t drill 35mm holes through 7" joists did you? (At least not mentioned).

No it went under ground, but had to have a vertical rise before turning then dropping down, that was the point I was trying to make, it would not stop syphoning when it came out of the top of the macerator through a 90 degree elbow that came with the appliance. Only giving it some rise would stop the syphoning.
