System runs for approx. one hour until pressure drops below 1 bar
Next - Filled the boiler through the pressure loop to 1.5 bar, isolated the central heating feed and returns and switched the unit off. 2 to 3 hours later, the boiler pressure gauge drops to 0.
Fill the boiler again to 1.5 bar, boiler will run again for approx. an hour until pressure once more drops.
Symptoms - constant dripping condensate and flue pipes, no leaks are evident on visual inspection of the boiler or any of the pipework. In another test I disconnected the condensate pipe and collected 2 pints of water after 1 hour.
Does this issue suggest and damaged heat exchanger unit?
If so do I replace the boiler with, a Baxi platinum, Worcester Bosch or an Intergas?
Thanks in advance
