After the flush was rising in the pan before going away slowly,I tried to rod from the inspection chamber 10 yards from the soil stack but I couldn't get the rods up more than a few feet and the 5 ft chamber and my 68 years defeated me so I got a drain company who cleared and camera'd (very expensive)
The camera proved what I thought that the first clay pipe at the chamber end had moved causing a lip stopping the rod going further (going down 5 ft and tight right angled entrance wouldn't go) however the rest of the pipe was fine and true shown by the camera.
Now just 5 days later the flushed pan is rising and slowly draining again. The bathroom wc is ground floor by the way.
Its occured to me as that both bath and basin drains gurgle went emptied similarly as the toilet seems to have a vacuum slurp when it finally goes.
So is it possible that the plastic soil pipe above the wc bend exit is blocked causing a vacuum (no air admittence holding back a true drain). This sounds feasible to an old engineer (me) is it familiar to a Plumber ?
Thanks in advance.

if it goes to a shared drain then it could very well be covered for free from your water supplier the rules changed a number of years ago
Worth giving them a call
