Matsui LM37HD1 TV manual

Matsui belongs to Dixons Store Group. Info link HERE

If some kind soul hasn't scanned a copy and posted it on the web then you'll need to contact Dixons or Currys or probably Parts Master which is the spares division for the group.

Thanks but have tried all options suggested. Partsmaster do not have a copy of the manual. Does anyone have their own copy which I will happily pay for it being photocopied and posted to me?

I got the same response, when asking for a Euro 4H manual. You are asking on the wrong forum. However..I have experience on Matsui, and they are not linked to Dixons as suggested.

A PM, might reveal information. What's the fault? Matsui as a brand were more reliable than other brands, so generic faults can be diagnosed easier.

Well, according to wiki they are...

Matsui is the brand name of a line of electrical items sold in the UK, introduced in the 1980s. It is an own brand of the Dixons Retail plc retailer, and not an independent manufacturer.

However, if you can be of some help to the OP then by all means please share your knowledge in this thread for the benefit of others who may be Googling for an answer to the same issue

Well, I own a Matsui Television set, that was certainly not purchased from Dixons/Comet chain. That has stood me in good service, even after being dropped at several stages of it's life. So I stand corrected by Wikipedia, where any random person can write anything about anything, so I succumb to their advice.

I have many service manuals, but this TV refers to being a HD version, that I won't have a service manual for.

Thus refers to a flatscreen version? I could do research, but I'm not presented with a fault.

So common causes include; fluctuating screen, PSU, dead, invertors. What do you want me to diagnose with no information?

OP - What is wrong with your television? Do you need a service manual, or advice how to fix it?

The problem I have is that the remote will not communicate with the tv set. I have replaced the batteries to no avail and have even bought a replacement remote from Partsmaster, but still with no joy. :(

The remote uses one channel transfer.. if the batteries are old, the unit locks up.

You sort this by clearing it's memory, by taking batteries out, shorting the terminal out, then reinserting batteries.

If that doesn't work, then most likely the chystal is snapped, and you need a new remote, but the new one won't work.

But in Matsui, there is a common cause of remote failure, the IR detector, or it's chip...and can also be caused by a main button stuck down, on the TV set, or, the TV in kid TV prevent mode.

I suspect, that a combination of buttons have been pressed, that prevent your remote working?

A quick check for any remote is to aim it at the lens of a digital camera and observe the viewfinder. If you see white flashes from the (normally invisible) infra-red LED, the remote may be OK.

It may transmit, but if the crystal is out of sync, it won't work. If the remote has been dropped, then the crystal often becomes detached. And a new remote, may not be in the same serial number range, to power a different box.

As I said, child mode lock, a button stuck, or faulty receiver is also a probablity. The history of the set suggests the latter.

Thank you for your helpful comments. I took the TV in for repair last Friday and, indeed, it was the remote which was faulty. The replacement from Partsmaster was not the correct item either! The remote has now been repaired and all is OK. Thank you very much for your helpful comments and advice. Best wishes. Bill
