Maytag Jet clean dish washer that doesn't drain completely

I have a Maytag dish washer and it runs through the cycle and cleans the dishes but there is still a couple of inches of water in the bottom when the cycle is complete. Sometimes during the following cycles water spills out on the floor but very little.

Can anyone tell me what the problem might be? I changed out the drain hose to a 3/4" drain and the hose goes up 14" to where it hooks into the sink drain.
