We are in the process of installing a new kitchen and have recently plumbed in our dishwasher into the new waste pipe under the sink. After running a cycle a few inches of water remain in the bottom of the dishwasher. We have ran the cycles again and again without it overflowing but the water remains. I then tried to run a cycle but detaching the waste hose and draining it into a bucket instead, which seems to have worked as the water has gone, dishes are clean etc etc....

Any ideas why it will drain into a bucket and not into the waste pipe ???
The pipes are all new so there should be no blockage..

Please help !!!!!

Sounds like you may have a problem with the pump/hose/ filter. Check the filter is clean,m are you sure the pump does run.

Would it drain into a bucket if the pump wasn't running or if there was a problem with the hose ???

The filter is definately clear

It would drain if the pipe was lower than the water level, pump or no pump

The bucket is definately higher than the water level although the majority of the hose is probably below until it reaches the bucket then it kind of goes up and over into it. When it is plumbed in normally it may be a little steeper....... do you think it may be the pump not pumping hard enough !?
