MDF and wall paint

Hi 1st post, hope I express this clearly. My D.I.L. and a friend are building a cupboard in the lounge, son doing all the cutting. D.I.L wants the walls of the alcove and the MDF doors of the cupboard painted the same colour. Is there a paint that will cover both surfaces. They will be using a primer on the doors

You can get emulsion for walls and water-based satin for wood mixed to the same colour, from most of the brands.
