What is the minimum sheet thickness for curving, to what radius.
Looking at a stair balustrade cladding system

you could try flexi MDF, I used this a while ago to clad a spiral staircase, it has a series of grooves on one side that allows it to bend easily

The Flexi stuff is 6mm
