MDF Plinth question

Just removed the plinths from a recently fitted kitchen. Under the shiny plastic exterior, they're MDF construction. They've been cut on one edge to suit the uneven floor. What's the best way of treating them to prevent damage from moisture ingress?

You can get a plastic floor trim for the plinth.
Thanks for the quick replies.

@Wayners. I've seen the plastic floor trim you mention. Could still see moisture getting inside that stuff. Might do both methods as a belt and braces approach.

Thanks again.

I'd use a clear polymer with the plastic trim
Something like Soudal Fix All? Looks like it fits the bill.
