Meauring an earth rod impedance

If you are doing this to provide an earth for a generator etc, you need to use an earth electrode resistance tester
But you take the supply from the generator in a way which mimics a TT, TN-S, or TN-C-S distributor's supply, so why can't you use a loop tester?
Indeed you can. I presume TTC was thinking about the situation in which the generator was not running - e.g. if an earth electrode was being installed and tested prior to commissioning a generator - in fact, exactly the same as if one was installing and testing an electrode prior to having a TT supply connected.

Kind Regards, John.
