Membrane or Weed Control Fabric

Hi Guys,

I am creating a pebbled border in my garden and want to minimise the risk of weeds appearing in this area. The rest of the garden is being turfed. I was planning to use a 1000ga membrane but just seen that a weed control fabric is also available.

You probably don’t need a membrane, unless there are tough perenial weeds like brambles and nettles waiting to come through.
Most weeds blow in as seeds (e.g. dandelion etc) onto the surface, so a membrane will make no difference to them.

I think the main use of a membrane is to stop mud coming up, if the area is very damp.
