Mid Position valve as a zone valve?

I've got a new drayton mid position valve that's spare, and i'd like a zone valve to use on part of the new heating system, is it ok to just blank one of the ports off on the mid position and use it as a zone valve? If so how will it change the control/wiring of the valve.

Too much hassle......just buy a two port!! You can't be that hard up.!! And the wiring will be easier!
