Miele washing machine drawer full of water

Hello,
I know this is a common problem, but I have exhausted all possibilities (other than calling out the engineer). The conditioner compartment in the our Miele washing machine drawer is always full of water.
I have run an empty cycle on 95 degrees with just soap (Persil liquid), taken out the drawer, cleaned all components and the inner drawer with a bottle brush.

Any other ideas?
