Mira Essentials on/off switch not releasing when cover on

Hi,

I have just fitted a replacement heater unit to a mira essentials electric shower and a new cover (old one had been ripped off a few times by the looks of it). Everything appears to be sitting back properly etc..

I have a strange issue with the on/off button only when the front cover is fitted. The on/off button does not release properly so once it is switched on it can't be switch off.

Everything works perfectly with the cover off.

Is there a known issue with this model of shower?

Any nice suggestions welcome to help with my now non-profit job.
