Mira shower pressure

We have a rather old Mira Advance Thermostatic ATL shower.
For some reason it loses pressure just after you turn it on, but if you turn it off and on again the pressure is normal. Has anyone else had this happen and is there a way to fix it?

Not a cheap repair, probably better with a new shower if it is unbearable.
