Hi all - is there any reason for a C/H header tank not to have a expansion pipe? - had a job last week that the header tank had boiled over but there was no expansion pipe? - only had a 15mm feed/22mm outlet and overflow outlet - not come across one before, thanks

That's a 22mm combined feed and vent. Ok on most open vented systems.
What caused the boiling? What boiler is fitted?

Combined feed and expansion, but I have come across CH expansion going into the cold water tank! Customer was complaining of discoloured hot water.

seen an install were a builder had tapped into a nearby F&E tank for the cold supply to the bathroom sink. was like that for 7 year. ch system was shot. she never used it and just had her aga on constantly.

Oh Denny Boy , the pipes , the pipes are calling . From glen to glen and down the mountain side

cheers chaps - I'll pas it through to an heating engineer just to check the boiler over to be on the safe side because this overflowed quite a lot (too much for the overflow to discharge anyway)
