I intend on fitting a monobloc Basin Mixer tap when I refit my bathroom next month.

I have a combi boiler and mains fed water.

I understand that to meet water regulations I need to use a check valve to prevent back siphonage.

Is it a double check valve I need on the mains cold water only?

Do I need to fit check valves on the bath taps (not a mixer, but individual taps) or the cistern feed?

Fit single check valves on both the hot and cold feeds to the mixer tap.

This will prevent cold water pushing into the hot and vice versa.

You only require single check valves under the water regs as hot water is only classified as fluid category 2 (aesthetic/temperature changes only) and is therefore not a significant risk.

You will not need check valves on the individual bath taps unless the tap outlets are below the spillover level of the bath (if they are you will require a double check valve on both supplies).
