Currently stripping off the un-bonded skim in an extension. Base coat is sand / cement render. Large area needs new base coat. Is it an issue to use regular base coat plaster, or would I need to stick with render?

Cheers,
Fubar.

hate to do it... but....

bump.

Need to get this job done this weekend if it's a goer.

Cheers,
Fubar.

Ideally sand cement, but if there are no issues like damp then any basecoat.

It might be that fill th ehole iwht bonding and give the whole lot a thin coat to make it nicer for skimming, as long as prepped ok

Cheers Micilin,

No visible evidence of damp that I can see in the areas in question.

I'm planning on base coating and getting the walls flat myself, then paying a plasterer to come in an skim for the professional look.

Will double check tomorrow and fling the stuff up.

Fubar.
