Hi, newbie here, with my first post.

I have an old Randall 4033 timer that controls the boiler for central heating and hot water (not a combi boiler) There's also a Honeywell wall mounted stat.

I would like to replace it with a modern system (preferably with a wireless stat and using the existing controller backplate)

It is set between the pipework, so I need a controller that is no wider than the Randall (approx 4 inches)

Any recommendation if such a system exists???

Cheers

The Danfoss wiring backplate is not a current standard layout, so will almost certainly need wires transferring to a different controller backplate.

The Danfoss is 102mm wide, 210mm tall.

Google / forum search will find similar threads on replacing your unit.

Small controllers like Hive (100 w x 102 h google tells me) should fit.

I'd not be too worried about fitting a Wiser 2 'on its side' ... it'd then be 93w x 148 h, but may need more work to fit the backplate...

An alternative may be to fit a backbox spacer to mount the controller onto (depending on the depth/standoff needed. e.g. https://www.edwardes.co.uk/products/mk-k2134whi-1-gang-20mm-deep-mounting-frame
