I'm in the process of ripping the current 1960s half tiled bathroom. My plan is to tile floor to ceiling. The existing plaster is seraphite over sand and cement, so the tiles coming off with pretty much all of it in tact.

I'm therefore thinking of plaster boarding the whole room as it will only have minimal space impact. For the shower quadrant, is moisture resistant plasterboard enough or will I need a cement board as well. its going to be tiled floor to ceiling and I'm not much good at plastering, though I can tape and joint.

Because the process of taking the existing tiles off has pulled the "plaster" off too, back to brick. So I think it will be easier to tile on board than try to patch the plaster and tile.
