I have just read a forum about the same kind shower plumbing that I have.

i.e. Cold feed from tank in loft and hot feed from an off-shoot of the hot vent pipe coming from the top of my hot water cylinder.

There is no Surrey flange and the off-shoot for the hot water is above the level of the top of the hot water cylinder by about a couple of inches.

In the forum I read namsag states you should:

"take hot feed for shower from at least 6 inches below the tee piece...that way it wont pull air down the open vent when on."

Could this be it? Or do you think I should look for air somewhere else?

What type of shower is it,
Is it a new installation.
