Most cost effective way to set up my hot water system

Hi,

I have a sealed central heating/hot water system which utilises a hot water cylinder. The cylinder is a modern one and very well insulated.

Should I run the hot water on a timer or might I just as well put it on constant?

What about when I go on holiday?

If its switched off it can't use any electricity at all
The more its switched on the more electricity it gets the chance to use.
If you don't need it don't turn it on.
