I have just discovered that the heating header tank in the loft has a blanket of mould on the surface of the water.

I have skimmed this off and the water underneath is clear.

There is also no obvious signs of anything having fallen into it.

Is there anything that can be added to the header tank to kill this i.e. milton or is it a case of draining and reflushing a couple of times?

Cheers
