Hi,

I was wondering how difficult it would be to move the existing bathroom from downstairs to upstairs on the current floor plan.

At the moment the bathroom is part of the ground floor extension next to the kitchen.

How would it be done, what are the average costs of doing this, best-proposed floor plans?

I am willing to sacrifice the space of one of the bedrooms upstairs which would give space for an open kitchen.

The property is an end of the terrace house, being detached on the left hand side.

Shouldn't be ridiculously difficult, the drain will already be in the vicinity of the existing bathroom, so a case of finding a suitable point to couple in and run a stack up the external wall to serve the new Bathroom. My question is though, why would you want to? Losing a bedroom will knock a hell of an amount off the value of the property....

I was thinking of something like this which would keep it a 2B.

Personal preference for the bathroom upstairs, don't fancy getting up in the middle of the night to go downstairs through the living room to the bathroom for a pee

It's only myself and my partner so not too fussed on the second bedroom being shrunk.

Rather than a corridor, I would put all the doors next to each to keep the space in the second bedroom.
Sorry, not related to your question ....

Makes sense thanks, no need to say sorry, open to any improvement suggestions :D

If possible, I would hang the SB door on the same wall separating the bathroom so that is facing the top of the stairs.
I guess it depends on the space at the top of the stairs.

Plan 2 better idea, maximises available space.

Kept bathroom upstairs here in my house, and sacrificed third bedroom, 20 years back when I moved in I didn't fancy the long hike downstairs in the cold after a Night out! Never regretted it, but I still have 2 bedrooms. Whats your plan, just a WC and basin or try and squeeze a shower in too?

Don't get rid of the gf WC or you'll have the same problem in reverse. I have something like this:
