Right as some of you will know, i fitted a shower pump yesterday.

The shower and pump all work fine, however, the basin cold tap doesnt.

The tap is fed from the CWS tank in the loft (which is full). I shut the gate valve and took the nut off and ran some water into a bucket fine... So the problem's after this point. Where I'd taken the nut off, i tried blowing down the pipe (with the tap open), and i couldn't blow down it - I nearly popped!

So could this be an air lock, or is it blocked or what? And how could i fix it :(

Help me please :?

Thanks in advance.

David.

have you any other cold taps run from the cws ?

are all the hot taps running ok ?

if you say you have blown down it and the tap was open andyou got no where i would say blockage or the tap is faulty and not opened when you thought it had. ( jammed tap washer etc)

is the bath cold mains fed then ?

Yes, the bath and toilet are fed from the cold mains for some reason (mabey use to have a mixer tap?)

And the tap was opening as there was a very slow trickle coming out. But by the time i'd finished there was nothing :(

hi
do you have a wet and dry vac if so open the tap and suck it out or the reverse suck it back at the point were you had your mouth on both occasions open the tap when doing it
bob

as said if you have a wet vac they are handy for this.
if not it'll come down to the old hose trick from the cold mains to the gravity tap.
