From what youve said, good god no
I have admit your subsequent post has me confused a little but if it passed the "selotape test", just give it a good going over with 120 grit & try again. Try not to damage the plaster surface too much as it’s not meant to be sanded & that in itself will give a "suede brushed the wrong way" appearance which will need extra paint coats to cover.
As I said, I’m not a pro decorator but here are some tips that might be of use; I thin all emulsion around 5% but maybe more depending on it’s actual consistency out of the tin. I rarely use rollers & never on finish coats as I don’t like the finish they give or the mess they seem to make; I always use a 5” brush as I think it gives a better finish &, for me, it doesn’t take much more time.
