need to measure a roof !!

I need to fit a pre-fabricated metal roof to an outbuilding , the company will manufacture the sheets to the overall measurement..
How do i take a measurement on the squarness of the roof area, it is aprox 7mtrs by 5mtrs flat roof area would taking a reading from the diagonals be correct?

Don't you just multiply the length by the width to get the squared measurement?

yes got sq meterage put need to check how square the roof is !

Yes you would check the diagonals, but make sure there is no creep at any verges, and the verge is still straight

Hi, Jacko........good to see a Sussex diy`er........use pythagorus (3-4-5) to construct/ check a large right angle triangle ....I described it somewhere on diynot (tis the only maths I know)
