When installing a new acrylic bath do you normaly assemble the bath so that it just touches the wall or do you leave a small space say 2 or 3mm?

Good practice dictates you either;

- batten around under the concealed edges to give support to the bath sides
- or cut a chase in the wall and render the bath in

I would not leave a gap round the outside, unless it is a very big bath!

Fill the bath with water prior to applying sealant around the tub. Let the sealant cure before you empty it.
