We have just had a new boiler fitted and at the same time a new roof fitted. The cement from the roof clogged up the gutters and as such, the overflow pipe from the pipe became blocked up and rainwater backed up and entered the boiler causing water to come through and out of the boiler.

The plumber has suggested leaving it to dry out for a few days and then switching it back on and plumbing the outflow pipe back in (the gutters have been cleared) and it will work apparently. Is this ok or should we be demanding a new boiler as we're worried the electrics will be ruined and / or the parts in the boiler will be corroded.

Thanks for any help,

a new homeowner

Ok so you have an electric boiler which should be inside the house right?

The cement from the roof clogged up the gutters and as such
,

Then you have a gutter [which normally lives on the outside of a house] became blocked with cement ok I'm still with you.

Now you've lost me!

Can you post some pics?
