I want to replace my front door, my question is, it is easy enough to do? Do I need to replace the thing at the bottom of the door (is this the threashold?)

Commonly referred to as the cill these days.

If you are changing type (i.e. uPVC->wood, or wood->upvc) then, yes, change the cill too.

Its an okay job for a half-competant DIY-er.

But you need to start early, as if you don't finish.., they'll be a draft ;)

What type are you changing from and to?

yes start early i am in the trade and consider fitting a front door with all the furniture properly to be a day long job
