Hi,

I've got an AEG washing machine with a very fancy looking inlet hose, that is leaking.

It has the number 40010188 written on it and I've found them for sale on Ebay, but only on the german site.

It has what looks like some kind of inlet valve on it at the mains connection end. I was wondering if it was some kind of "Aquastop" valve, but there are no electrical connections to it. I've connected it to my outside tap and just let water flow through it at full pelt, but it doesn't shut off the flow.

I've removed two screws and slifd the cover off the "valve". There is a spring loaded red plastic piece with a magnet mounted in it. If the plastic bit moved down against the spring, the red would be visible through two small clear plastic sight holes in the body/cover that I have removed

Is there any reason I can't use a standard washing machine hose to replace it?

Any idea where I might be able to buy an identical replacement. I've looked on espares and found some very similar looking things, but not identical and they are very expensive... about £60
