I need to take power to a new switched lighting circuit on the first floor via the loft. From what I see at present power is fed to existing switches, gathered in a choc block at the switch and then switched power fed to the lights. Can I simply spur off a cable in the loft that is feeding to one of the existing switches using a Wago junction box and connectors?

Yes, make sure it is the permanent live& neutral that you intercept, and not a switched live.!

You also should assess the maximum current demand on that circuit to ensure that it can cope with the extra load.

Hi, you can also take the feed from an existing switch as you have a Neutral and Earth at that point.

Kind regards,
