it is possible to add an external PRV near the boiler, instead of replacing a dripping prv that is impossible to access inside a combi? And then drill a new whole and run a new pipe out, or even cap the original pipe and tee into that before it goes outside? Just a thought/query??

The PRV drips/ leaks for a reason, sort that and you won't have the problem

Turn the knob 2-3 clicks and see whether it stops.

For what they cost it's silly not to change it when the vessel was charged.

They certainly can be fiddly that's a fact.

Can you remove the old one and pipe it to a better position using the same connection

What boiler is it?

Sometimes the bottom of the boiler drops away to allow access.
