new team electric shower wont turn off

Hi

Have had this 10.4 kw electric shower about 5 years. Power control knob went very stiff and plastic splines behind switch broke off. The flow only stopped when the supply was isolated.

Managed to turn the spindle to off by hand and this stopped flow but still very stiff.

Would appreciate any suggestions as to possible cause., as it seems to be more than the broken knob.

Check out the shower doc website for blow up diagrams and spares lists for most showers.

I would probably advise you to get the whole shower replaced. Fairly cheap shower and probably false economy to repair.

nds like the Pressure switch assembly has broken inside.

thanks for your advice - have sprayed the camshaft with wd40 and it loosened nicely, have found the new part on ebay, will post results; fingers crossed.

New part arrived and shower back working again - just need to sort out an upgrade to the mcb.

Is fitting an rcd to an electric shower now a legal requirement or just highly recommended.

I do appreciate that in either event a qualified electrician needs to do the work.
