My central heating hasn't been working for a cpl of weeks now and it's getting colder so I'd like to try and get it fixed if possible...

As usual money is tight so if possible I'd like a straight forward diagnosis as I cant afford to go replacing parts that could possibly be at fault ....

The fan starts when it should but that's as far as it goes...

It doesn't click as if the ignitor probe is trying to light the gas...

In the past it has failed and it has been the ignitor probe but it still usually clicks but fails to light....

I'm not after a repair for nothing and am more than willing to pay but would obviously like to "employ" someone who knows what they are doing as to be honest looking down the yellow pages and such like it's a mine field as there are so many to choose from....

Here's hoping someone can help me out as it's becoming mighty chilly in here.....

In edit...
Suppose it would help if I told you what boiler I had huh......It's a Maxol Microturbo 40H (dont all laugh at once :D )

I'm not sure of parts situation for these but your RGI should be able to easily check the various components that have to operate in sequence during a startup(PCB,air pressure switch etc)
