We have recently had installed a bay window the dimensions of the top of the bay are as follows:

233cm in length and the widest depth is 37cm.

My question is should the lead flashing have been installed in two parts, as the roofer has installed it one length. I did request that it should be done in two, with lengths being no more then 1500mm, but was told as the bay was so small this wouldn't be necessary? The roofer has installed the lead directly on top of marine ply wood is this OK too?

Do you think that in time that the lead might split with this size and cause issues in future.

Thanks in advance.

The lead will split - probably within a year or two. 1500mm is correct.

In your case overlap at by 150mm at 1150mm.

Dont allow the roofer to come back and merely cut/split the in place lead.
If thats done then a 150mm cover overlap is required on either side of the split. ie a 300mm cover piece should be inserted.
