Difficulty removing the Rear Drum from Nissan Almera 2002. Problem is that the two 8mm threads on the drum are stripped and so tight that the drum is impossible to move (shoes clear) . Any advice re solution would be appreciated
If the threaded holes are unusable then you will need to use a copper hammer if possible, try hitting the drum on the flat part that the wheel fits against, near to the edge of the drum. A word of warning don't us the hammer like a builder use some common sense, once you get the drum moving then you should have no problems. Clean up the drum to get rid of the rust.

I think he has "jacking screw holes"in the drum,like the front of my Suzuki.
Never done a Almera,so not dead sure. You get two gash 8mm bolts and screw them in alternately to "jack" the drum off against the hub flange.
If the drum spigot was polished up and smeared with copperslip before fitting,this situation wouldn't happen.Unfortunately,if you follow someone who has bu****ed the jack holes then blasted the rusty drum back on without cleaning it,you cop for just this situation.Then you need johnwr's method.
