No fast spin on Hotpoint WMA 13

Hi all,

just having problems whereby on a P program, which is a fast spin, the drum rotates ok, but it never kicks into a fast spin. I thought the carbon brushes were shot so I replaced them, but it's just the same. I noticed that the water pump seems to be constantly running, but there's no water in the drum at the moment, just a very damp item I'm trying to spin.

Any ideas appreciated,

this mc will not spin with 1 item in, but a bath towel in with it to spin it out ,it will also spin empty.one item will not work on spin with any wma mc

Thanks mate,

the 'item' was a machine washable bathroom rug and so I thought this would be heavier than any normal item when wet.

Anyway thanks for the advice, I'd started to test it with the pressure switch disconnected, but got the same result.
