It is very strange. My boiler suddenly was out of order. No matter of central heating or hot water, once you turn it up, the ignition keeps sparking for a few seconds then the Lock-out light goes on. The flame is just not able to be lighted on. It seems there is no gas passing my boiler. I ve checked my gas supply it is normol. I ve kept resetting it, it just repeats Lock-out.

I don't know how to deal with really. I rent the property from an agency. Do I have to call them to deal with or I need to find an engineer myself? Is it responsibility the agency should pay for or I should pay myself?what cost is going to be? It seems very expensive even just asking an engineer to come and check. Does anyone could give me some ideas?

Ring the letting agent. Assuming you didnt have the boiler installed yourself then its their responsibility to get it repaired for you as per the terms of your tenancy.

Yes but it requires an RGI to investigate and repair.[/quote]

Can you tell me what the problem could be? maybe I have done something wrong but I don't know.

If there is gas into the property, which you say there is then its the boiler thats at fault and nothing you have done

Listen to the previous post......only a rgi by law is allowed to strip and diagnose your fault.

You shouldn't be responsible if you are a tennant (unless it's your boiler' contact the agency and let them deal with it

You are not allowed by law to try to repair the boiler.

Its the landlord's responsibility and the agency will arrange and pay for a qualified engineer.

It could cost between £88 and £190 to get it repaired. Surely you dont want to pay that yourself?
