No hot water after changing washer on washbasin tap

Can anyone suggest what my problem is. I have changed the washer on my wash basin as I was unable to turn it off - I now have no hot water - has anyone got a solution, as I think I must have created an air lock somewhere.

Yep - run a search; there is plenty of stuff on here for that, try the search and post back if you still have troubles.

bath hot water is also affect dave - no rads involved as run on storage - hot water is available at the sink

Cup hand over sink spout and turn of both taps. Hold pressure back for a minute or so and see if that helps.

Only works with certain mixer taps though.

Can I just ask you something Dave. My father was a plumber, and many many years ago I saw him use a piece of hose from the cold tap to hot water tap. Would this be to cure something lke this

If you don't have a mixer tap, then it is one of the methods.

OP this will only work if cold is off the mains.
