I have a potterton profile 60 boiler (gravity fed). The radiators are nice and hot, but the domestic hot water is not warming up. I get good hot water when I use the immersion heater in the heating cylinder. Its also possible (but not 100% sure ) that when the hot water in the cylinder heated up by the immersion heater, that the boiler kicks in.

Any ideas to help diagnose and solve the problem ?

Cheers ! Rednight

Have you been pushing the reset button under the boiler?

Sounds just like a senario I was called about a few minutes ago!
If so I asked you to check for water in the expansion tank.

Could be air in system or no feed or a controls problem.

Hi Tony: Re my post of Monday, your advice to check the expansion tank paid off. I crawled through the loft, located the tank and found the tank empty with the ball valve jammed. Fixed it, it filled with water, and now the hot water is working perfectly.

Thanks a million !
