hi all, just got a problem that started today, out of the blue.

we've got a gas boiler that heats the hot water and central heating. when i turn the hot tap on it stays cold. i've looked at the pilot light and it doesn't fire up. however, if i turn the heating on, the pilot light ignites the big flame (i'm a bit ignorant on the workings!) and then the water does turn hot.

so i guess it's not registering that i've turned the tap on, i dunno.

anyone know what this might be? do i need a plumber or the gas board or something?

any advice would be great.

cheers
