Boiler: Gloworm Ultimate 50FF
System: Gravity Fed

Hello, new to the forum but I am in need of some help. As you can see from the subject title I have no hot water

I get a bit of hot water if I have the heating and water hot set to both be on constant (expensive ). If I have the hot water only on then the boiler gets hot and then turns off after a couple of minutes

I have had a look in the loft. The small F+E tank next to my cold water storage tank is full of water, and the ball valve isn't stuck or anything. However, my F+E tank is slighlty bowing which does worry me

Anybody got any ideas. I was thinking it may of been a blocked cold feed, but I am guessing it is more than likely the cylinder

Cheers

have a look in your airing cupboard to see if there's a metal or plastic box sitting on a join in the pipework near the hot water cylinder.

from what you've described, the hot water isn't getting from the boiler and into the coil in the hot water cylinder.

it could be that the motorised valve to let water into the hot water tank is stuck, which means your boiler is just heating the water inside itself without it ever reaching the cylinder.

Every heating system is different so photo's speak a million words and the more knowledgable guys should be able to diagnose what's up.

from the way the combined HW+CH is works, it sounds like you should have a 3 port valve that is only partially opening.

You might have an airlock in the cylinder coil too.

But a photo of the pipework by the cylinder can tell us something as it will define the system.

Thanks for the advice so far. I shall take a look at the cylinder and the pipework later on tonight and shall try and get some pics up
