No water getting to dishwasher

Anyone help.....

I have a Zanussi DW401 dishwasher about 12 years old.

The problem i am having is no water is getting into the machine...i have checked all the pipes and everything seems o.k.
I read on the site that it could be the cold water inlet valve, i have changed
this but it still wont work.
If i manually put water in the bottom of the machine and run a program everything works, but no fresh cold water is gettting in the machine.
Has anybody got any other ideas?

Have you checked if there is a voltage applied to the inlet valve when you turn the programer manually. If not it is probably the programer itself.
