Noise problem in new semi!

Thanks chap for the support,
I have a feeling a lot of the noise is stemming from under the floor(1st floor), the floor have no insulation in there and I no in our house it booms and echoes quite a lot if we walk heavy footed or if my 1year old runs around upstairs it's very load, I no on houses we work on insulation under the floor reduces a lot of noise so presumably if next doors was insulated the noise in there side would be reduced meaning the noise traveling to our side would be reduced!

I think insulation between floors helps a little bit, but noise transmitted through the beam will still occur.

My house has empty space between the floors, and I cant hear someone walking around upstairs unless they are stamping around.
