hello for a few weeks ive had a noise coming from boiler,( only way i can describe it is a hum hum hum all the time when the heating is on, but can hear it louder upstairs tehn actually from boiler had it serviced a couple of weeks ago and bloke said it sounded like fan and said they can start to make a noise, but the past couple of days he boiler has been vibrating when u touch casing could this be the fan causing it? and if so does the noise and the vibration mean its on its way out replies much appreciated thnxs

by the way sorry i didnt mention system it is i believe a sealed system combi boiler gloworm compact 80
 
Certainly sound plausible.
It's not a Glowworm Ultimate is it, they rattle quite a bit, especially the 100 and 120 models.
 
no its old type gloworm compact 80 p had to change fan about 3 years ago

its 6 years old now and had 1 new fan in it already its only been in 3 years i think
 
im in the bg home care and i just wanted to know wether it were worth bothering em for just the noise or if i needed a new fan or not
