Hi
Can anyone help/offer advice? Have just installed a new Ideal Mexico HE24 freestanding boiler. Everything works as it should, hot water, heating etc. However upon startup in the morning from cold the boiler howls like a dog for about 1/2 an hour and then settles down to silent running. The boiler replaced a very old mexico. The system has been drained and flushed and the piperwork all altered to the manufactures spec ie combined vent and feed on the flow pipe from the boiler. I have flushed and re-flushed, altered the pump speed, balanced and bled all rads, but still this noise persists. I'm sure its air in the heat exchanger but I am running out of ideas on how to solve the problem.
I thought it might be the vent pipe adding to the problem, which is routed downwards to the boiler but then turns to the horizontal before rising three inches (in a nice curve) to meet the vertical feed pipe to the boiler! The header tank is three stories up in the loft space.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Regards
