we have an issue with our cold water storage tank and the supply from it. our boiler is set at 6.30 am for 30 mins and every day more or less if the upstairs bath hot tap is turned on there is a loud noise which comes from above the ceiling which I think is from the cws pipework to the hws tank/boiler. it doesn't ever seem to happen in the evenings and it generally stops after 5-10 seconds. I am wondering if we need to clean the pipes as it has only done this for the past 2 years since our bathroom was replaced-one thing we have wondered is whether switching the bath around and moving the taps from one end to the other has changed anything. our pressure isn't great so we have compression type taps which we had before the bathroom was all replaced. this doesn't happen when the bathroom whb taps, downstairs whb taps or the kitchen taps are turned on, just the bath.

any ideas would be appreciated?

If this problem only started when you had the bathroom done then the pipework probably wasn't supported enough when it was installed.

Sometimes the problem can also be a faulty ball valve in your CWSC supplying your hot water tank.
